Dr. Javad
Rezazadeh Yazdeli

My work has developed across Applied Linguistics, English Language Education, higher education, assessment, curriculum and materials, educational technology, and educational consulting. What connects these areas is a continuing concern with how evidence can be interpreted responsibly in relation to real learners, teachers, institutions and educational choices.

Academic formation

A research path grounded in language education and expanded toward educational decision-making.

I completed my PhD in Education at Arak University in 2026. My doctoral research, with a focus on English language education and Applied Linguistics, examined the cultural and pedagogical fit of the Top Notch series in Iranian EFL contexts through a mixed-methods design. Applied Linguistics has remained one of the central research and professional fields through which I approach language education, materials, assessment and learning.

University teaching

Teaching has remained the practical ground against which research questions are tested.

My university and higher-education teaching experience includes Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the University of Kashan, Payame Noor University in Kashan, Shahid Rajaee Technical University in Kashan, Feiz Institute of Higher Education, Fadak Institute and Khavaran in Tehran. My teaching has included Applied Linguistics, linguistics, methodology, speaking and listening, research methodology, language assessment, curriculum and materials development, EAP/ESP and specialised English, including English for medicine, computing and accounting.

Research & scholarship

Applied Linguistics is a central strand, but the questions increasingly cross disciplinary boundaries.

Applied Linguistics & English Language Education

Language proficiency and fluency, English-language education, language learning, EAP/ESP and context-sensitive educational practice.

Assessment & Evaluation

Language assessment, validity, feedback, interpretation of evidence and the relationship between measurement and educational judgement.

Curriculum & Materials

Educational materials, coursebooks, cultural and pedagogical fit, curriculum, learner needs and materials evaluation.

Technology & AI in Education

Technology-enhanced learning, learning design, digital education and the responsible use of AI in educational contexts.

Peer-reviewed work includes research on the cultural and pedagogical fit of the Top Notch series, lexical and temporal fluency, and listening-related learning. A chapter on humanistic materials evaluation has also been accepted into the completed-chapter bank for a Brian Tomlinson/Douglas Bell edited volume with Bloomsbury, with final placement pending.

Educational Philosophy

Education is not merely the transfer of knowledge; it is the awakening of the human being.

My educational philosophy begins from a simple but demanding conviction: education must not lose the human being while pursuing information, achievement or measurement. Knowledge remains incomplete when it does not contribute to character; talent remains only a possibility when it is separated from effort; and counselling fails when it replaces a learner’s decision instead of helping that learner learn how to decide.

Professional practice

Research has always been accompanied by work with learners, families, teachers and organisations.

Leadership, communication & creative work

The professional record is wider than university teaching alone.
